Vasilios Greek Cuisine in Madison

Great fresh fish, wonderful food and great service by local family. Highly recommended

My wife and I had a wonderful lunch experience at Vasilios, and it was our first time there. We had a humas and pita bread appetizer that was fresh made, almost too hot to touch, and killer good. We each got the seafood entrees, one a lemon-baked black fish that was delicious, and the other a shrimp and scallops dish in a spicy Greek white sauce over rice which was also cooked to perfection. Both meals came with a very nice small Greek salad that had a great oil and vinegrette dressing. The wait staff was very responsive, attentive and informative and the ambiance, while minimalistic, was quite comfortable. We will definitely revisit Vasilios. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the experience.

Always fresh food. Salads are delish. I always have Talipia and shrimp. Seems like it's better Everytime. Friendly servers, too.

Over priced and over rated. $20 piece of tilapia, you could get a whole bag of for at Walmart. Dingy looking staff always fixing their hair or picking their nose. It's disgusting. The owner has been accused of and settled out of court for sexual harassment. No selection either. Kristos down the street has a better selection and variety at a better price.

The best Gyro ever! Spanakopita, mmm good. The baklava was served warm and just melted in my mouth. Delicious food and excellent service.

Went in today at 1:50 to inquire about a catering order for 15 people. Just as I walked in the door the young lady behind the counter said we’re closed. No hey how are you, have a great day, just we’re closed. So I left and went just down the street and gave the order to their competitor who was interested.

We were very impressed with both the good and the service.

Best Greek restaurant around. Food is always wonderful

Kind of pricey, but original Greek quizine. My server was so slow that our drinks were watered down before they made it to the table. The bread was dry but the meats had flavor.

Who woulda thunk it. Authentic Greek food in Jackson, MS. Food and service were exceptional.

Gyro was really good. Fries were cold. Tea was nicely flavored

Great to go some where the staff know you name. And the food is always great. Atmosphere of restaurant is homey and inviting.

Loved the chicken gyro, hated the baklava.

Food is always very good, but the service can be hit or miss. All of their seafood is delicious, and the more “standard” greek/Mediterranean fare (like gyros and hummus) is good too. It’s got kind of a quiet, intimate atmosphere that I really like. Not the best place to visit with very young children.

This place is wonderful there gyros are amazing I was curious at first about Greek food but it turned out above and beyond the entire staff is nice and pleasant

Excellent food & service

One of our favorites! Consistently fresh seafood. Staff is “iffy” at times but never affects the food.

Food was good, but seemed more American than Greek. Souvlaki was on a bun and side order of fries; versus meat on bed of rice, vegetables on side, pita bread.

Love this place. Great food. Great service. My whole family always wants to retune.

I was in Vasilo's last night and it was wonderful. We started out with the humus and I loved it. They had great redfish and the cheesecake was the best. The enviorment was like you were at home. Everyone was friendly. Their menu has a great selection to please even the pickest of people. I would recommend anyone to go there.

amazing gyros

Pleasant environment and nice staff but really average food. $23 is a lot for an oversalted piece of fish and soggy mixed vegetables that taste like they're out the can.

The food was amazing the tizika sauce was so good, got the calamari, grape leaves, and gyros, this one even is better than the street ones I've had in NYC, truly next level, a culinary experience at a little hole in the wall location.

The food is always excellent. Great options whether you want a nice dinner or a quick sandwich. Service is always friendly. Wonderful dining experience overall.

Expensive for very little food. Seafood platter was disappointing with very few items costing almost 30$. Veggie gyro had some lettuce and cheese in pita bread, disappointing again! They charge more than the price indicated on the menu!! Service was horrible, but we tipped the server. Probably we wouldn’t go to this restaurant again!!

Just went into Vasiliios tonight for dinner. We were sat relatively quick for being a full house. However, we are now at a Mexican restaurant because after sitting for 15 minutes without being spoken too, we left. A waiter finally said something to us as we were walking out the door.

Vasilios have the best fresh seafood and Greek plates gyros and homemade baklava. Friendly family place.

Went for Valentines...cozy, private owned atmosphere...good selection at affordable price.

I had a really great experience. The service was excellent as well as the shrimp with baked potato. I will definitely highly recommend eating at vasilios. The food came really fast and it was fresh. I also had the best waitress that catered to my two small children which made a huge difference with my dining experience there. Cudos to vasilos!!!!!

Love the place and the food

Didn’t like the service. Way too expensive for what we ate! Also taste not the greatest when compared to other Mediterranean restaurants in town! Cutlery was not clean. Overall experience was not good!
